Welcome back to my back to school series on Love, Soph! I’ll be running this series until around early September, so I hope you’re ready for a bunch of back to school themed posts! In the school year, I’ll be continuing my Study With Soph series, but for now prepare to be bombarded with some back to school posts! Today’s post is the most exciting post of the series (obviously – it includes lots of stationery!) so I thought I’d post it earliest. I am very giddy for you all to see it!
If you’re following me on instagram, you might’ve seen that I received a very exciting parcel from the lovely Ryman in late July, filled with loads of stationery goodies perfect for back to school season! I’m working with Ryman to bring you this stationery haul and show you all the bits I think are essential for heading off to school in September! I’m extremely grateful to Ryman for sending me out these wonderful goodies, and I’m really excited to share them with you!
RYMAN STATIONERY HAUL
Pens are one of, if not the most important part of a back to school haul. I only write in pens (I can’t understand people who write with pencils, absolutely baffles me), so it’s important that I have a really nice set of pens which are comfy to write with for back to school season! I’m doing three essay subjects at A Level (I too think that I am crazy) and so I’m preparing myself for a lot of writing ahead; having a nice selection of pens which won’t give me painfully blistered fingers is essential.
These pens from Zebra tick every box. I absolutely love Zebra for pens; they’re basically the only ones I write with and I find them so comfy to hold, the ink is smooth and rarely skips. Aside from the specifics of the pens, LOOK HOW GORGEOUS!! I could ask for nothing more than a very pretty set of rose gold pens, and I can’t wait to pop these in my pencil case and feel extra special every time I use them! You can buy these pens for £1.39 for a pack of three (absolute bargain if you ask me!) here. I also really rate the Zebra mildliners, they’re those Japanese highlighters you see all over instagram & I use them a lot – Zebra tend to just do great stationery all round!
Ryman also sent me this Bic pen. I love this as it’s really little, meaning it’ll be perfect for my blazer pocket, and has four really pretty colours (green, blue, pink and purple) which will be really great for making pretty and quick notes! This is the fashion colour pen, and you can buy it here for £2.79!
Back to school season means one thing; revision starts again. For me, revision seems to be a year round event & I’m always digging away at trying to make myself understand whats going on in my lessons! Ryman have sent me some amazing products which I know will definitely be a part of anyone’s revision essentials – studying is always made easier with pretty stationery!
Coloured pens are an absolute ESSENTIAL for pretty notes, and Ryman sent me through two sets of very gorgeous ones! First up are the Papermate Inkjoy Gel Pens, which you can buy here for £13.99. These are clicky gel pens and they are the most wonderful pens I have ever written with. The ink is so so smooth, never smudges and the pens have this amazing grip around them so they don’t hurt your fingers; I’m absolutely in love. I can’t wait to start writing notes and colour code them all with these pens, they will be featuring a lot over on my instagram & in my study with me’s this year!
These next set of pens are extremely exciting – I have wanted, if not needed a pack of these gorgeous fineliners (you can buy them here ) in my life for some time now, and this pack is perfect. With twenty amazing colours, you’ll have enough to make all the revision posters and mindmaps your heart desires! It’s important to use colour in your revision as it helps the information stick into your brain better (this is scientifically proven, somewhere…). These pens are great because they come in a case which, when opened, doubles as a stand; this makes them perfect to slip into your school bag and they don’t take up any room in your pencil case!
Finally, in terms of pens, Ryman also sent over these stunning highlighters. We’re all definitely fans of the Stabilo pastel highlighters, but the Swing Cool ones are made with a slimmer design. You can buy them here, and they’re the perfect size to fit all of them into your pencil case, rather than only a few of the chunky ones. I use loads of highlighters in my work, so the more I can throw in my pencil case, the merrier! This pack also came with an extra pink & yellow highlighter, which is great because you’re sure to have enough for the whole year!
A final revision essential of mine is post-it notes, and Ryman sure did deliver on this one! This huge set by Post-It includes their original coloured post it collection, alongside the Miami and Rio De Janeiro collections. There’s a total of 675 post its in this pack, so you won’t run out during the year. Post-it brand post it notes are the only ones which stay stuck to my walls properly, which is where I use them to display to-do lists and little facts to remember for tests. The glue on these is super sticky, which is why it stays up so well! You can buy these here!
Notebooks make up a huge part of my stationery collection (I am a bit obsessed!), so I was very happy when I realised the final thing Ryman sent me was one of their own brand pastel five subject notebooks. They are really important at school, and having one which is suitable for five subjects is really convenient, as you’re not carting around too many books. The great thing about this notebook, is that the dividers can be moved around so you can add more/less paper to a section and tailor it to your needs! This would’ve been perfect for me during GCSEs. During A Levels I’m planning on using it for one of my books in English Literature, because I can have a section for each aspect of the book! Plus, the pastel pink cover and dividers is adorable, I’m in love with pastel colours at the moment!
That’s everything Ryman sent me, and I am incredibly grateful for it all! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, as I loved writing it & can’t wait for you to see some more of my other back to school posts!
