Today I’m back with another blog post (you haven’t seen me for a while, I’m sorry about that but stick around until the end of the post for an explanation) but today I’m here with an exciting post! Recently, the company bakerdays offered to send me or one of their letterbox cakes with any design of my choosing – I of course said yes, and the cake arrived just the other day so I thought I’d let you all know how I found it!
It came inside this tin with the most lovely notecard! The tin was really useful, because the cake is very slim and is being put through your letterbox so you wouldn’t want it to get smashed up, especially if you were going to buy this as a gift . I found that the tin protected my cake very well – I also love a good tin so I’ll be using it a lot even without the cake in!
The cake itself looked amazing! I had asked for my blog name to be printed onto the front, and the result I got was beautiful! It felt like such a special cake, and the fact that you can personalise them is amazing! I think this would be a really great option for if you were buying a cake for someone; exams are coming up in the U.K. (don’t remind me aaaaa) and this would be a perfect good luck present! The colours were really pigmented, the icing was evenly laid over the cake and the board held it all securely! I was really impressed by this.
Now, the cake was only small, so slices weren’t huge and were a touch thin, however that’s just the size of the cake. I chose to get a Victoria sponge cake, however there were many options such as chocolate and red velvet – you could even have gluten free options which is really good! However, my one slight disappointment is that there was no Icing or jam within the cake – I know that it would maybe have made the cake go soggy during transport, but I think it would’ve really added to the flavour of the cake! The cake itself was really nicely made though; it was really airy and moist, and my whole family enjoyed it! I had a slice or two, and so did my mum, and then my brother liked it so much he ate the rest of it!
Overall, I’d say that for £14.99 you’re getting a really nice cake (albeit a bit small), and it’s an exciting gift for someone too – whether it’s a birthday, and exam gift or even Father’s Day, you’ll definitely impress! Thank you for reading guys! I hope you enjoyed this post. I’m sorry for not consistently blogging over the past few weeks – I have been revising a lot, and haven’t had much time or motivation, I feel like all my motivation is used up on studying! Don’t worry, I’ll still be trying to post on here but forgive me if it isn’t normal times. When my exams are finished, I’ll be doing so much better and producing great content for this blog over summer!
