I haven’t done a weekend in my life for a while (I think that October 2017 was the last time!), and so I figured it was probably time I did one again. I love to update everyone on what things I’m up to and you all seem to really enjoy these posts. There isn’t much to say really other than getting into the post!
FRIDAY 23RD FEBRUARY – FOOD EXAMS AND THE CINEMA
Friday was a stressful day but it had a really nice and fun end! I started my day in school, as it was a Friday, but I was actually in cooking all day doing my food technology practical exam, which was very stressful. We had to cook for our parents a full meal – main, drinks and desserts – and then serve it to them. It was really stressful, and it’d been stressing me out all week long (which is part of the reason that I’ve been so slack on blog posts – that, homework and English speeches. I’m hoping to get a bit more back to normal with my schedule now!) however it went quite well, which was good! I made a pie, mousse and lemonade and I’d say they went alright; they tasted nice, even if they sometimes looked a little bit iffy!
That evening, a few friends and I went to go see Black Panther at the cinema. I’m not a huge fan of Marvel films, and if I’m honest I didn’t really enjoy this one (it had a great soundtrack and I thought some bits were good, but I struggled to follow what was actually going on!!) however my friends really enjoyed it. We also went out for a meal at Frankie and Bennies – I had a margarita pizza and some chips, which was really nice. I had a great night and it was a nice de-stress from my exam, plus it was good to spend some time with my friends and we had a great laugh.
(Yes, this is a picture of the ticket from my bed, because I’m that lazy!)
SATURDAY 24TH FEBRUARY – SHOPPING!
My family and I went to Southampton on Saturday to do some shopping as I’d been wanting to go to Ikea for a while – I was having severe withdrawal symptoms after not having been there in far too long! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Ikea, and bought a few bits and bobs which I did a haul of on my Instagram stories (make sure to comment below if you saw that!). I also bought some cacti, which I’ve wanted forever and they look so cute on my desk!
In Hollister I bought a black off the shoulder top with a floral design, which I’m loving and can not wait to wear in spring! Again, I hauled this on my Instagram stories, along with a notebook from tiger and a few other bits! I love tiger, and the one in Southampton is really good – I had to refrain from buying all the things in there!
After that we went for a meal in Prezzo, which might be my favourite Italian ever! I forgot to take pictures, which is very annoying, but I had margarita dippers to start with, a margarita pizza (again, I’m SO basic!) for my main and then the most lush honeycomb cheesecake for dessert. It’s safe to say I came away feeling very full, but it was such a nice meal!
SUNDAY 25TH FEBRUARY – A CHILLED DAY OF WORK
All I did on Sunday was school work. I’m very much in the run up to my GCSEs now, and the need to spend my time working and doing homework is increasing a lot, but that’s okay! I woke up in the morning and my Mum had made me a Nutella and banana crepe – it was amazing! After I ate that in front of the fire, I did a maths paper (one of three maths papers I did today). It was rather boring. I’m not the best at maths and I find it really demoralising, however I think this paper might have gone okay; I suppose I’ll find out when it’s marked!
After this I went upstairs to tidy around my room a little as it was a bit of a tip, and I did some biology notes. I took some time to chill out and caught up on youtube – I’m really into watching study youtubers at the moment, they always make me feel really motivated and inspired to work, so I watched a few of my favourites. After this I actually spent some time outside in the greenhouse with my Mum; the weather was quite crisp and cold but overall bright and sunny, and in the greenhouse it was really warm. I just sat and chatted with her whilst she planted some seeds, but it was nice to be outside.
I came back in and spent my afternoon doing another maths paper – sadly I only managed to get two done today as I really wanted to finish all three, but I’ll do another tomorrow night. After this it was more or less time for tea, so I ate that and then had a shower, packed my bag for school the next day and chilled in my room until I was ready to go to bed!
I’ve had such a lovely weekend and it was a nice end to an otherwise rather stressful week. Shopping mixed with nice food and some productivity is just what I enjoy! Do you enjoy these posts? If so, I’ll definitely do more in the future.
