Today’s post is actually a collab with the lovely Erin from Vintage Hax and we’re both going to be sharing seven things you can do to make your day better, whether it’s beauty related, lifestyle related or anything in between. It’s super important to make sure you’re feeling your best as often as possible, and keeping yourself positive is a great way to ensure you’re feeling on top form. Of course nobody feels amazing 100% of the time, but hopefully these tips will help you have a great day.
TACKLE THE TO DO LIST
Everybody has a to-do list as long as their arm sometimes, especially those of us in school (I know I do, revision is a never ending swamp!) and with busy lives jam packed with deadlines. Sometimes just sitting down at your desk, getting in work mode and getting all the things you need to get done is the best way to go about feeling more positive and less bogged down, even if the prospect of it is daunting and very boring. Put on some music (at the moment my personal favourite is the greatest showman soundtrack) and tackle all the work you need to get done!
TREAT YOURSELF TO A PAMPER
Sometimes the best thing to do when we’re stressed is to pamper ourselves. Running a bath filled with bubbles and tossing in a bathbomb, lighting some candles and just relaxing is an amazing way to improve your day. Sometimes I do this when I’m so tired and my bones ache and I immediately feel way better. Getting out and doing a face mask and hair mask and wearing cosy pyjamas and snuggling up to read a book is a great way to improve your day.
GET UP EARLIER
It’s a killer to drag yourself out of your warm cosy bed, especially on the dark winter mornings, but getting up earlier means you’ll have a more productive day and probably feel more positive about your day as a whole. Getting more achieved will make you have a better day in general.
Who doesn’t love treating themselves once in a while? A little retail therapy might be all you need to make you feel a bit more positive and you’ll get some amazing new bits to try out from it!
GET OUT FOR A WALK
Sometimes a little fresh air can help to blow out the cobwebs and make you feel super refreshed & much more positive. I always find I am way more productive after a walk and I generally just feel a lot better. It’s always fun to go out, find new places and be in nature; taking your camera out there might help you find loads of beautiful pictures too!
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH GOOD PEOPLE
How can you ever be expected to have a good day if you’re not surrounded by people you love, and who make you laugh and who you’re comfortable being with. I always feel so happy around my friends and my family, and in turn I end up feeling super positive and having a better day because of it; if you’re not able to laugh with your friends and have fun, and if you don’t feel comfortable around them then you need to change that, because it’ll make you happier! Trust me, I’ve been in these sorts of positions so many times and I’ve always felt much better having escaped them.
READ A GOOD BOOK
In 2018, I’m trying to get back into reading a lot more; it’s one of my favourite activities & always makes me feel so much more relaxed and less stressed. I think getting lost in a good book (the sort that you finish in a day and can’t put down) is always so fun, and a great way of taking time out!
