Blogmas Day 9 – Reacting To Christmas Adverts 2017

Todays blogmas post is one which I am so excited to write, and that is for two reasons; reason one, being that it is a collab with one of my all time favourite ever bloggers, Tabi from Busy Bee, and reason two being that this is possibly the best post idea I’ve ever heard of.  Ever since Tabi and I planned to do this collab, I’ve been more than excited to write it; of course, all the credits for this post go to Tabi’s wonderful mind and her excellent blog post ideas! Make sure you check out Tabi’s blog, as it is utterly beautiful and she’s one of my biggest inspirations for blogging EVER!

This post is very exciting for me because I truly LOVE lots of the Christmas adverts this year and I’m so excited to tell you all what I think of a few of them; those I love, and those I don’t love quite so much.

John Lewis have totally gone and done it again by creating the perfect advert this Christmas.  While this one isn’t overly festive, it is the only one that has made my cry this year.  Moz the Monster is just so cute, and the sentiment behind this advert is so lovely.  He looks so sad when he has to say goodbye to the little boy on Christmas eve, and I just find it so festive.  It’s much better than last years, and the man on the moon (which I personally really didn’t like) but I’m afraid to say it still doesn’t beat the penguin, the snowman or the bear and the hare for me this year – that’s right, I know my John Lewis adverts, the snowman was the 2012 one!!

I don’t really like this years Sainsbury’s advert, but I’m not sure why.  I feel like it makes me cringe a bit, but it is quite festive I suppose; I do admit that the tune is very catchy and I always have it in my head.  The home movie style element of it is also really good, but the advert itself makes me cringe a little bit.

Although I haven’t actually seen the new Paddington film yet (but I really hope I can go see it soon!), this year’s advert from M&S is so good!  It really makes me giggle, and the whole thing is so festive, all the snow and the houses are really pretty and paddington is very very cute.  The whole message behind the advert is actually very lovely and quite touching.

This is one I’ve literally just discovered as writing this post, and I didn’t realise that Heathrow did Christmas adverts!  This one is so cute; any sort of animal or teddy bear in a festive advert pretty much guarantees that I’ll really love it, and this is no exception.  I think this is such a cute idea, and all the bear families are adorable – I also really love how it goes through the different time periods!

I really like this advert!  The idea behind it so funny, and Kevin is very cute (if carrots can be cute!) – also, the end scene where the train flies away filled with fairy lights and santa is so magical!

This is definitely one of my favourite adverts this year; the wolf is adorable and the first time I watched it my heart really skipped a beat when he fell down the waterfall and didn’t come back.  Like I said, I’m a bit of a sucker for cute animals in adverts! When she gets her teddy back though it is the best thing ever and made me so happy!

So, thats it for todays post!  I really hope you enjoyed it – what’s your favourite advert this year?  I think mine has to be John Lewis!

Make sure you check out Tabi’s post, which is also being published today so you should totally go check it out!

Merry Christmas!

Soph xx

This is such a great blogmas idea! I have to agree that I’m not a fan of the Sainsbury’s one either! I think my favourite is Marks & Spencer because you can’t beat a bit of Padington! x
