Today I’m going to do a Christmas tag, to really get me in the festive spirit (not that I could be much more festive to be honest!). I’ve seen these tags lurking about the internet for a long time now, so it’s hard to find current ones that are more relevant than one from 2013. So, this tag has a bunch of questions that I’ve found on many tags all over the internet, smashed into one giant post for you guys!! Sit down, get a cosy drink and get ready to read about my love of all things christmas!
What is your favorite Christmas film?
It has to be Love Actually right? That film is just so amazing!
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yeah definitely! In 2010, which is the last time I remember that it properly snowed really deep, we had a white christmas! It snowed from November to January or something mad? As a child I often had white Christmases/Decembers because I lived in the north of England and it is cold and snowy up there! Now I live in the south, I think that snow is going to become a rarity for me, which kind of makes me really sad!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Usually at home, and my grandparents will come to see us now we live in the South. When we used to live in the North, they’d just come over for Christmas dinner. However, this year, we’re spending Christmas up in Leeds in a hotel, which isn’t going to be very festive at all, but I am excited to be able to go boxing day shopping in Leeds again!
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Has to be Marys Boy Child by Boney M, or The Merry Christmas Polka by Jim Reeves! The last one reminds me of my childhood so much!
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
My brother and I have opened Christmas Eve presents before, but usually we like to save most of them for Christmas morning! Sometimes if I buy my family gifts then they open them on Christmas Eve. It usually just depends on what everyone wants to do I guess, but we usually save the presents for Christmas Day.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Prancer, Comet, Vixen, Cupid, Blitzen, Donner, Rudolph
Almost! I missed out Dancer!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
It always depends on the year: usually we use our fake ones, because real ones are so messy and start to die by the middle of December, because we put ours up pretty early! If we have a tiny tree though, it’s definitely going to be real!
What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Boxes of chocolate, my favourite being Roses. I just love all the food at Christmas, but one of my favourite bits that always finds its way into the house is Quality Street Matchmakers in the orange flavour; they’re AMAZING. Also, how could I forget chocolate orange?!
Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Probably receiving, as I don’t buy many people gifts. My friends and I do secret santa, and I love seeing people try guess who got them what. Sometimes I’ll buy my brother sweets and a face mask (he’s always jealous of me when I get to do face masks!) and that’s always fun, but I love getting gifts too!
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I’d love to go to New York, I think that would be so special! Otherwise, somewhere in Germany or Austria because they have beautiful scenery, especially Austria and amazing Christmas Markets!
Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I’d say I’m alright! My Mum is amazing at wrapping gifts, and I can definitely neatly fold in corners and things; I’ve learnt from a pro!
What made you realize the truth about Santa?
I suppose just growing older and getting more common sense: mine was a triple whammy, and the tooth fairy, the easter bunny and santa all died at once! I still love to keep Santa alive in my memory though as it makes Christmas feel all the more festive!
What present are you most looking forward to?
Because I choose most of my presents (I don’t like surprises, shoot me!) I know most of what I’m getting, and I’d say I’m looking forward to getting my Jack Wills bodywarmer the most! I’ve wanted once since I was like twelve, and now I’m going to get one for Christmas and it’s gonna be so cosy!
When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
After my birthday? I mean I’m pre scheduling these posts in october and currently listening to Christmas music; Halloween hasn’t even happened! I’m such an early Christmas person, but as soon as October half term starts I’m very excited for Christmas!
What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Probably still the excitement and anticipation of waking up and going into the living room to see if Santa has been with all my presents! Even though he will have done, because they’ve been there since Christmas Eve, it’s always super exciting!
Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas candles and oils burning are always super festive, but the smell of Christmas trees and the coldness outside is also one of my favourite festive scents!
So, I hope you enjoyed that tag! If anyone wants to do this for their blogmas, make sure to leave me a link in the comments so I can read your answers!
